MWB/LB-69 : Gun & Ammunition Design: Small Caliber- Standard & Experimental Ballistics

* Standard Small Arms Designs
* Standard Ammunition Designs
* Small Caliber Testing Requirements ;
* Manuals And Training
* Safety & Environmental Considerations
* Concerns For Individual Liability-Both Government And Industry
* Process, Quality And Production Control
* Safe Handling, Storage And Transportation

OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE

The main emphasis on this course will be in the Standard Small Caliber Gun and Ammunition design of systems up to and including 40 MM. Some Experimental Ballistics will also be covered.

Gun and Ammunition design considerations and parameters will be discussed to provide information which can eliminate or greatly reduce catastrophic or safety problems. Manuals and Training with the actual systems are absolutely essential in order to have good, safe and proper function and operation of any good system.

Actual hardware testing by engineers as well as ordnance technicians (not done at this course) is essential for a well trained individual who will be dealing with propellants and explosives. It is the responsibility of each installation to see to it that they have a well planned hands-on training program.

Also, in these days of reduced budgets, the use of simulated training versus actual training will be discussed in this as well as the Gun & Ammunition Design: Large Caliber & Experimental Ballistics Course.
